where’s the empathy May 16, 2024

@wendy22 just so you know, these strategies may work for typical autism but can be ineffective or create distress for a child with a pda profile ( which the OPs child may have ( TBD).

Just mentioning because many
PDA kids and their parents are encouraged to try these and they don’t work

@everyone has issues have you looked into pathological demand avoidance?

Look into pathological demand avoidance(PDA). It’s a profile of autism. Try the pda society of the uk website. The violence is likely fight response to demands

@rush I agree it seems very subjective- there could be a lot of reasons why Adele might avoid or seem to avoid someone other than a weight comparison

In my experience private hospitals are worse for traumatic birth- they offer epidurals on arrival which is a convenience for the dr not the patient and increase the need for Caesarian’s which are also a good money maker for the Dr and often convenient compared to waiting out a drawn out labour for a vagunal birth. .. Public is a better place to birth in Australia

I’m not anti-cesarean or anti pain relief as long as it’s in the best interests of the mum, the birth and the baby rather than being distracted by the drs own convenience and scheduled golf game.
Continuity of care is awesome but it’s also available in the public system
Please go public next time. So many mothers have had their first baby in private then switched. Private birthing involves more intervention. Look into the stats
