The best inclusive brands you've probably never heard of, according to a plus-size content creator.

As a fashion content creator, I spend my days getting lost in the world of clothes.

However, being plus size in the world of fashion isn’t always easy. The industry rarely sees us as equals and often makes it really hard for anyone above a size 16 to 'fit in' — quite literally.

I have been plus size for as long as I can remember. So as a young adult I found myself having to buy clothes just because they fit me, rather than because I loved them or they made me feel confident.

Clothes are meant to represent who we are — they're the first thing someone sees when they meet us and they're meant to reflect our personality.

Plus size or straight size, I think all women deserve to feel fabulous in what they're wearing which is why I started my Instagram account a few years ago with that goal in mind.

The fashion industry is so far behind when it comes to inclusivity, so we rarely see sizes larger than a 16 in our retail stores. Which is why it's so important to shine a light on the brands that are doing inclusivity so well and making women feel and look amazing.

So here are my favourite brands to shop: my wardrobe is full of their pieces and they make getting dressed in the morning a joy, rather than a chore!

Fayt the Label

This brand is absolutely slaying and offers a size range of 6-26.

When I first found Fayt, I fell in love with the brand instantly. Not only do they have amazing basics like their buttery tees and denim, but they give plus size women the opportunity to buy trending items that are normally near impossible to find in plus sizes.

One of my all-time favourite items is their Downtown Pants. They fit to perfection, and you can tell that when designing them, they thought of every size woman!

Love Your Wardrobe

A female-owned brand that has made workwear shopping so much easier for me.

Specialising in sizes 14-24, LYW is a brand that I have shared for years and will continue to share for many years to come. The pieces are all cut with curvy bodies in mind.

Sometimes it’s the little details that brands put into their patterns when designing items that really show how much they care about the items fitting curvy woman. LYW do that so well and it shows in every item I have ever tried from there.

If you are on the hunt for quality basic tees, it's a perfect option. I won't lie, I have every colour in their Kelly Dipped Hem T-Shirt as well as their Ella Stripe Button Up Shirt. This is a brand who wants plus size women to be able to get dressed with ease!

Kennedys Boutique

An Adelaide-based business who put their heart and soul into designing beautiful, draping pieces that can be worn for all occasions.

Kennedys is a brand that made me step out of my comfort zone and they take away all of those fashion rules that I, as a plus size woman, have felt like I have had to follow for years. Like thinking curvy women can’t wear loose pants with loose tops!

What I love is that they don't try to redesign the wheel too much, they create pieces that work so well and then they continue to recreate these pieces, sometimes with minor tweaks. For example, the famous Harrison Top is available in so many colours and then they went and made it in a petite length, making it the perfect length for us on the shorter side!

Motto Fashions

A mother-daughter run business breaking all the fashion rules!

This is a brand you can go to if you want to find an edgy suit set, the perfect fitting shirt or a gorgeous dress.

Motto have only just recently extended their size range to a size 20 and I couldn’t be happier about it. They are striving to continue to extend their sizing.

We all know that suiting is definitely having its moment in the fashion world and Motto do it so well. Their Cleo Pants are some of the best suit pants I've tried.

They are the perfect amount of structured and loose, making them so comfortable. Pair them with any of their oversized blazers and you have the perfect outfit!

I have many, many Motto items in my wardrobe and the collection continues to grow.

Adrift Clothing

If I ever need a show-stopping dress, Adrift is always my go to.

They do natural fabrics, well-fitting designs and absolutely incredible colours and prints. When you scroll their website, it is a sea of beautifulness! I don’t think I have ever tried an Adrift piece that hasn’t fit me to perfection.

They are an Australian brand offering sizes XS-4XL. I can’t tell you how many dresses I have from Adrift occupying my wardrobe. What makes me happier is that they are styles I wear time and time again.

My favourite design from Adrift is the Sabre Frill Dress. You know when you find that holy grail item of clothing that makes you feel amazing, even on the days when you don't want to leave the house? The Sabre Dress is that dress for me!

I should also note a few other amazing brands that fill my closet include Proud Poppy, Little Party Dress, Daisy's Closet, Estelle Clothing and Freez Clothing.

Happy shopping!
