'I've found an $8 product that has completely tamed my frizzy hair.'

When it comes to hair trends and methods, I've tried them all.

I'm someone who has naturally pretty wavy hair, so frizz is something I'm constantly dealing with... and it's a real annoyance.

If there's a hint of humidity in the air — frizz. From a light sprinkle of rain to a thunderstorm — frizz. A windy day — frizz. Even the first day after a wash, when my hair has that fluffy texture with the fly-aways flying freely, I'll be set to experience some hefty frizz.

When it comes to managing my unruly hair, I've tried so many products. It's the main 'beauty area' I invest money and effort in, as opposed to skincare and makeup.

With this investment have come plenty of tried and tested experiences over the years (my poor bank balance). But fortunately, it's meant I've found a few specific oils, treatments and gels that work wonders, so I go back to them time and time again.

Alright, let's get into the holy-grail products or dealing with frizz.

OUAI Hair Gloss, $62.

This hair gloss is a treatment you use after shampooing and conditioning your hair. You only need to add pea-size amount (it emulsifies and spreads nicely) to the mid-lengths and ends of your hair, leave it on for five minutes, and then rinse off.

I was recently chatting to the OUAI team (we love a beauty guru), and they were explaining that this product also has heat protectant built into it, as a lot of people use heat to style their hair. Win-win.

Sephora die-hards will be delighted to know this product has just launched in Aussie Sephora stores, so now we can all get our hands on it.

Joico K-PAK Color Therapy Luster Lock Glossing Oil, $27.99.

I always keep this hair oil in my desk draw, because after a day in the aircon, plus walking to the office in the wind and humidity... my hair needs some love by 5pm.

Again, a little goes a long way. It's a solid price, and it tames fly-aways and makes my dry ends appear a lot smoother and nicer.

Marc Daniels Treatment Go Curly Makes Hair Curly 150ml, $8.

Image: Supplied.

For the gals out there who have curly hair, this is a game changed, and such a handy product to have on hand at all times. It helps hold the curl pattern without making the strands crunchy like other curl gels do, plus the consistency is Goldilocks-level perfect and it tames the frizz.

AND... it's $8. I mean, if the product is $8 and performs well, can we really ask for more? This brand is also available at Woolworths, Coles and eBay.

evo fabuloso cool brown colour boosting treatment (220ml), $45.25.

One of my fabulous colleagues, Charlie, recommended this product last year, and a bunch of us on the team were inspired, so we went and bought some tubes for ourselves to give it a go. And I'm so glad I did.

It's basically a hair mask that adds semi-permanent colour, and there are a few different colour options depending on what best suits you. I have opted for cool brown.

After shampooing and conditioning, you pop it through your hair for just under 10 minutes, and then wash it out. It's designed specifically for dull, dry hair. It adds a great level of shine and hydration, which in turn counters the frizz.

I only use this product probably once a month, and after purchasing it online five months ago, I definitely have plenty more uses to go, so it's well worth the price, too!

Eleven Smooth & Shine Anti-Frizz Serum 60ml, $26.95; and OUAI Hair Oil, $55 (45ml).

The next two products are reccos from Mamamia's one and only Beauty Editor, Erin Docherty — and she's given us a spendy and a savey option.

"After I finish styling my hair, I usually reach for something to control the frizz. A couple of my faves are ELEVEN Australia Smooth & Shine Anti-Frizz Serum, and OUAI Haircare Hair Oil. I warm up a few drops in my palms (this helps break the product down rather than just applying directly to your hair) and then gently work it in evenly, starting from the ends. I find this helps take the fluffiness and frizziness out of my puffy hair — and it lasts!"

Looks like I'll be adding these to my cart next shop too.

COLOR WOW Dream Coat Supernatural Spray, $49.49.

You might have seen this product on TikTok and wondered if it's just a viral fad, or actually a game changer.

COLOR WOW is quite a big brand in the hair world, and this Supernatural Spray is beloved by celeb hairstylist Chris Appleton, whose clients include JLo and Kim Kardashian.

The first time I came face to face with this beauty was at my local hairdresser, who decided to jump on the bandwagon and try it in the salon on her clients. She sprayed a bit on my hair post cut, and wow, it looked awesome. I've tried it a few times since then, and I've had the same reaction.

Let me be clear, though — this is one to use sparingly. You truly only need a few spritzes, otherwise it can make your hair look oily/greasy, especially if you apply it too close to the scalp. Also, I kind of love that a little goes a long way with products like this that are a bit more on the spendy side.
